Capitol through the Trees, Washington D.C
I spent a lot of time walking around the Capitol and the Mall, looking for interesting ways to photograph such an iconic building while still having it be recognisable. I think this may be one of my favourite views, with the dominating architecture softened by the trees.

'Big Sky Country', Parkes, Australia
This picture was taken by the side of the road to the Parkes Radio Telescope (otherwise known as The Dish). Two-thirds of the universe’s known pulsars have been found using this telescope. (Since it’s a little hard to see on this scaled-down version, the telescope itself is on the horizon on the left-hand-side.)

Busker, Sacre Coeur
Another busker, on the steps leading up to Sacre Coeur, Paris.

Grand Avenue, Smithfield Market, London
The Smithfield Meat Market is one of the largest and oldest markets in London, but at 10am on a Sunday morning it is almost deserted.
As a historical aside, the Smithfield markets was once a popular site for executions, including that of William Wallace, he of Braveheart fame. On a more personal note, this is one of the first pictures I took with my first DSLR (Canon 400D, for those interested), and it’s still one of my favourite shots.
