Heads from the North, National Gallery of Australia

Continuing with yesterday’s sculpture theme, here’s a picture of the Heads from the North, a installation artwork by Dadang Christato in the Marsh Pond of the Sculpture Garden of the National Gallery of Australia. I almost filled a memory card with pictures of this haunting sculpture, so expect more pictures of this sculpture to come.

  1. Ooooh now that looks ever so slightly disturbing… but such a cool shot though… I’m not surprised you nearly filled a card up…

    • I wasn’t able to find any definitive info on the meaning of this particular sculpture, but apparently artist’s work is largely driven by the impact of the violence and disappearances which occurred during his childhood in Indonesia. So I suspect disturbing is what he was going for…

  2. What a cool shot..interesting and eery too.

  3. this made me “jump”.
An excellent shot of the sculpture, eerie and effective.

  4. Oh, my. Most haunting indeed! The reflections are great and I think I am grateful you did not shoot these ‘head on!’ (pun intended) ;-)

  5. J’adore cette photo!Bravo!
