Another picture of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Berlin. While the memorial has apparently attracted its fair share of controversy, it’s still an incredibly powerful place to experience.

Lovely picture. Reminds me of the words of Victor Frankl that I was just reading today:
We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
–Viktor Frankl, author, neurologist and psychiatrist, Holocaust Survivor (1905-1997)

Something which is both inspirational, and, in its own way, terrifying. Thank you for sharing this.
You are welcome. i agree: terrifying to ponder.
Thank you again for allowing me to share your photo with my readers.
No worries. Thanks for sharing!
ps….I’d love to post your photo on my blog, if you’d be okay with that? onlydreamin.wordpress.com
I don’t mind, as long as it’s with attribution and a link back here.

A powerful image of a powerful momument made stronger with the inclusion of the person.
Thank you.
these shots can only be done in black and white…
Yeah, colour just wouldn’t seem right, somehow…
Beautiful!!! I love this composition, especially the lone person walking there.
Thank you
Oh what a strong heartbreaking image superbly composed…
Thank you k@.
Amazing image. Very powerful, meaningful. I like every single thing about it. Great work.
Thank you, Bob.
Wonderful image. You always seem to patiently wait for the little extra ‘something’ (in this case, the lone figure) to elevate a photo beyond the norm. Well done!
Thanks Tracy. It’s one of the advantages to photographing alone – I can generally afford to wait until I get just the right scene.
Very beautiful, and strong photograph
Thank you..
