Ghost Gum, Western MacDonnell Ranges
I may have inadvertently given the impression there is nothing in Central Australia apart from Really Big Rocks and the occasional salt lake; while this is true for the area around Uluru, as you move further north the landscape becomes gradually more hospitable (relatively speaking). This picture of a Ghost Gum was taken during a tour of the Western MacDonnell Ranges, a 400-mile-long mountain range which splits the Central Australian landscape.
