Flamenco (VII), Spain

Black and white picture of a male flamenco dancer, Madrid, Spain

Flamencoo (VII), Spain

Flamenco is known for its female dancers, but the few male dancers we saw probably eclipsed them in terms of sheer flamboyance.  This particular performer was like a cross between Michael Flatley and Paul Mercurio’s character from Strictly Ballroom.

Man and Seats, Sha Tin Racecourse, Hong Kong

The section of seats below our box at the Sha Tin Racecourse was mostly deserted, apart from this punter intently studying the form guide.  I don’t think he even looked up to watch the races.

Abstract colour picture of seascape, Florida

Ceiling and Organ, Almudena Cathedral, Madrid, Spain

Beach and Pier, Florida

Black and white picture of a beach, with umbrellas, chairs, and a pier, Florida, USA

Beach and Pier, Florida, USA

The heat index the day I took this picture was 117 fahrenheit (47 degrees C), mostly due to the incredible humidity.  Your glasses (and cameras) fogged up as soon as you stepped outside.  The holiday-makers ventured out to the beach undeterred, but I notice no one lingered under their umbrellas – everyone headed straight for the water!
