Repost time! Looking at this picture brings back so many memories of Rome – not just of wandering the art market of Piazza Navona, but also of the very different attitude towards smoking in Europe compared to Australia. A small thing, but it’s the little differences that linger.

I’ll be back in lovely Rome next week….can’t wait.
I’m jealous!
Fantastic contrast between the colored bottom and the grey top part of the photo.
Thanks – the white of the buildings and statues makes a great backdrop for the colours of the street life.
What is the attitude towards smokers in Australia?
Generally, Australia has a pretty low tolerance of smoking in most public, shared spaces – you can do it, but expect dirty looks if you breathe it on/near people unless you are in a specific smoking area. Smoking in restaurants etc is banned. Getting used to people lighting up next to us when we sat down for a meal was a real challenge!
One of my favorite spots in Rome.
It’s close to the top of my list too
really a pleasant atmosphere
Thanks Fabrizio.
Nice atmospheric street shot.
Thanks Tom!
