Puffins (III), Scotland
One of the things which made the Puffins so fascinating to watch was their many ‘human-ish’ mannerisms – whether it’s waiting eagerly for other puffins to land, or mating couples rubbing their beaks together as a sign of affection.
Beautiful capture!
Thank you!
Love this shot. What a great capture.
Thanks Edith!
Oh they are so comical aren’t they ! Good timing
I’ve always fancied a trip to Lundy Island where you have a chance to spot some if you are lucky !
We went up to Lunga, off the coast of Scotland – if you are there at the right time, the island is teeming with them.
Wow, the colors are wonderful!
The colours on the beaks are another mating feature – apparently the rest of the year they are a lot duller.
They’re so cute.
Yup
I love it. Great shot.
Thank you!
Beautiful capture, JP. I love puffins. They are the only bird I can draw from memory.
Thanks Emily. I’d love to see your Puffin drawings sometime!
Super shot of a pair of the coolest looking birds! One day I will get back up to Maine (the closest place to see them for me) to photograph and watch them. Love this one!!!
Thanks David! These birds are definitely worth a trip to see.
What a nice and LOVEly shot
Thanks Truels
Oh my goodness, this could not be more perfect!
Thanks Lisa!
What a great shot ! I had never seen those birds before, beautiful expression you captured.
Thank you! They are so human in their interactions, it’s irresistible.
That is sooooo sweet! They are adorable!
Yup – I think this is definitely in the running for most adorable animal behaviour!
