Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin
Another picture of the East Wing of Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin. In use for 128 years, it served as the prison for many of the leaders of the campaign for Irish independence.
ETA: milkyminx wrote this poem in response to this picture. Thanks milkyminx!

Poulnabrone Dolmen, Ireland
Poulnabrone Dolmen is a neolithic portal tomb in the Burren, Ireland. The remains of 6 children and up to 22 adults were found buried beneath the tomb.
This picture was taken between waves of tourists. And they did come in waves – a bus would arrive, they would pour out, circle round the tomb, and then recede back into the bus. 5 minutes later, the next bus would arrive, but for the few minutes in between, we had the place to ourselves.

Cross, Christ Church Cathedral
A cross seen through the decorative ironwork which separates internal areas of the church. Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin.

Blasket Islands, Ireland
Another picture from our ecotour of the Blasket Islands (Na Blascaodaí). The peaceful nature of this picture is slightly misleading – the roots of this name are uncertain, but it may come from the Norse word “brasker”, which means ‘dangerous place’.
