Sculpture, Musee d’Orsay

Black and white picture of sculpture in the Musee d'Orsday, Paris

Sculpture, Musee d'Orsay (September 2009)

After a few hours of searching, I still can’t find the name of this sculpture in the Musee d’Orsay, but I like the way the sculpture and the architecture combine in this picture.

Musee d’Orsay, Paris

Musee d'Orsay, Paris

We now return to your regularly scheduled travel photography. This picture of the Musee d’Orsay in Paris is taken from half-way up the museum’s translucent end wall, peaking between the steel beams which hold the structure together.

The Musee d’Orsay is a wonderful example of an industrial building being reinvented for a new lease on life: it used to be Gare_d’Orsay, and some suburban trains still use the station’s lower levels to this day.
