I know it’s not the traditional view of the Arc de Triomphe, but this is how I remember it – looming overhead while the tourist bus recklessly plunged through the insane traffic which surrounds it.

Arc de Triomphe, Paris

Arc de Triomphe
Each time we arrived in a new location, it became a tradition to take a trip on one of the hop-on-hop-off tourist buses. In Paris, we went with l’Open Tours, for no particular reason. Although I was initially dubious, these tours generally offered up interesting opportunities for photography – a chance to get a slightly different angle to the usual street-level views. (Of course, they also offered opportunities for accidental beheading due to low-lying branches or street signs, and a nice refreshing soak when it rained. Which it did. Every time.)
