Palais Garnier (Paris Opera), Paris

Light, Palais Garnier

The scale and opulence of the Palais Garnier (otherwise known as the Paris Opera, or the Opera House from Phantom of the Opera) can be overwhelming, and, on closer inspection, even the small details are exquisite. Due to the Palais Garnier being a ‘working’ Opera house, it is occasionally closed to tourists for rehearsals and performances, depending on the performance schedule. My sister and I visited on three separate days before we managed to arrive while it was open.
