Ravello, Italy

Cafe Scene, Ravello

Ravello is a tiny village high in the mountains on the Amalfi Coast. This cafe, housed in an atmospherically decrepit building, is in the main village square, and seemed to be doing a brisk business with tourists as the most prominent cafe in town.

(We didn’t eat there, though not due to concerns about the cafe architecture. Just round the corner from the cafe is a small deli which makes the most delicious fresh sandwiches – we took ours and ate them sitting on a concrete ledge which ran around the square. Highly recommended.)

  1. It’s amazing how some of these places continue to remain standing, when you consider how in some countries they’d have likely been condemned… At least they make for some superb photographic material… πŸ™‚

  2. Boy…that building…what a sight. I think I’d be nervous just standing near it. I’ll opt for the sandwhich too πŸ˜‰
