Street Dancers, Berlin

Another picture of Street Dancers busking in Berlin. I love the Pippi Longstocking-ish swing of his beani tassles, the intense expression of concentration on his face, and the smile of the lady watching from the background.

    • Hi David

Thank you! And I don’t mind you asking, although you may (or may not) be disappointed in the answer. This particular shot was taken with an old Olympus digital point-n-shoot I borrowed from my mother πŸ™‚ I find taking these sorts of pictures with a point-n-shoot challenging, primarily due to the shutter lag, but as this shot shows, it can be done.

As for the rest of the pictures on this bog, I also have another point-n-shoot I sometimes use, but most are taken with either a Canon 7D or 400D DSLR. (Lenses: Canon 24-205L IS, Canon 50 1.8, and sigma 10-20 f4-5.6.)

      • ‘Welcome!

Haha, well, a little part of me was wondering that. I think that, when it comes to just straight up image quality of black & white shots, when you get over some magic point between 400 and 800 iso, the only noticable difference between mom’s point-n-shoot and my super dSLR is the digital noise and how grain-like it is, which isn’t always easily noticable, especially without blown-up pictures. Whew that was a logn sentence. I think the two big things the dSLR’s have in that ring are sheer speed and nice control layout.

Nice lens setup! I shoot with a 50 (or sometimes dad’s old non-AI 28mm, but that takes some trickery), have a 24-120 coming in the mail, and am eyeing a 10-20 :).

  1. I like a lot the interaction with the woman smiling behind – super B&W (and handsome cutie here too πŸ˜‰
And thanks for your visit, much appreciated*
