These three columns are all that remain of the Temple of Castor and Pollux in the Roman Forum, Rome. Castor and Pollux (who, among their other claims to fame, are the twins of the Gemini constellation and brothers of Helen of Troy) apparently helped out the fledgling Roman Republic in a battle against the last king of Rome, and got a temple built to them for their trouble – part of which is still standing, 2,500 years later.  Not bad for a few hours work!
