Murals, Derry

Picture of mural in the Bogside, Derry, Northern Ireland

Mural, Derry

Like Belfast, Derry is famous for its murals depicting the events of the Troubles. This is one of a series of murals known as the People’s Gallery, painted by the Bogside Artists. Unlike many of the murals in Belfast, the artists have stated that these murals are intended to be non-sectarian – β€œa human document… not a political propaganda exercise…. They tell a story, pure and simple.”

  1. A wonderful mural and capture but a terrible time in Ireland’s and England’s history. One of my goal’s is to visit and spend some time in Ireland. Perhaps…soon.
