  1. JP, you know I really like with this set you focused on the power lines instead of trying to shoot around them or eliminate them later in PS. Sometimes it just is what it is and that can be beautiful in its own way. Bravo!

    • Shooting round them really wasn’t an option, they were literally everywhere – so if you can’t beat ’em, join em! Besides, I’ve always had a soft spot for industrial landscapes, and these fit the bill nicely.

  2. Very nice! I like the horizontal lines combined with the curves and shapes created by the hills in the background. The fog and the overall tonality finishes things off perfectly.

  3. It’s so unusual to see a shot where power lines are intentionally part of the shot… but hats off for taking such a maligned piece of everyday life and turning it in to an amazing shot… That mist sure adds some atmosphere…

  4. Superb image! I like how you focused on the power lines and integrated them into your composition – they complement the shapes of the clouds very well. The blue and misty mountain range in the background is absolutely stunning. I love that image incredibly!

  5. I *hate* power lines in my shots and never seem to be able to get away from them. That said…I think this is a really cool shot and it makes me realize I’ve probably automatically passed up some great shots just because power lines were in view.
