Jedburgh Abbey

Picture of Jedburgh Abbey, Jedburgh, Scotland

Jedburgh Abbey, Scotland

Jedburgh Abbey is only 10 miles from the Scotland/England border, which made it a frequent target of attacks by the English.Β  The combination of repeated raids, and the coming of the Scottish Protestant Reformation, meant the Abbey fell into disrepair in the 1560s.
