Repost: Piazza Navona, Rome

Picture of a smoking man selling art in Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy

Art Markets, Piazza Navona, Rome

Repost time!  Looking at this picture brings back so many memories of Rome – not just of wandering the art market of Piazza Navona, but also of the very different attitude towards smoking in Europe compared to Australia.  A small thing, but it’s the little differences that linger.

    • Generally, Australia has a pretty low tolerance of smoking in most public, shared spaces – you can do it, but expect dirty looks if you breathe it on/near people unless you are in a specific smoking area. Smoking in restaurants etc is banned. Getting used to people lighting up next to us when we sat down for a meal was a real challenge!
