Interior, Willow Tearooms, Glasgow

We only had a brief time in Glasgow, but no visit to the city is complete without admiring the architecture of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, a native Glaswegian who was the main representative of the Art Nouveau movement in the UK.  This picture was taken in the Willow Tearooms – I can’t comment on their tea, but their hot chocolate is pretty good!

  1. Love the strong geometry in this picture, totally not synonymous with my idea of a tearoom, which in my mind is full of roses and filigree, ultra soft/feminine lines – too much Edith Wharton methinks 🙂
