Stones of Callanish, Isle of Lewis

The Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis rival the better-known Stonehenge for sheer impressiveness, and definitely have them beaten when it comes to the remote beauty of their location, high in the stunning Outer Hebrides.

  1. Beautiful photo. When we visited a few years ago the skies were clear blue the whole time…so no cloud drama for us! The clouds add wonderful atmosphere and movement

    • I had only vaguely heard of this place before I started researching the Outer Hebrides. It’s a bit of a trip from Stonehenge, at least in English terms (although less so if you are from a larger country!)
